About the role

Fowler Construction is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to skillfully operate excavators, dozers, loaders, and/or graders. A strong commitment to safety, along with significant roadbuilding and civil construction experience, is essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Skillfully operate equipment to level and smooth surfaces, dig holes and trenches, and move earth and other materials as instructed.
  • Execute the daily plan and work sequence under the direction of the foreperson or superintendent and complete work tasks as directed in an effective safety-conscious manner.
  • Work with and alongside lead hands and labourers to successfully complete the required work.
  • Perform physical labour when required to meet the demands of the project.
  • Follow direction as provided by the foreperson, lead hand, superintendent, and spotter.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment to ensure it’s in good working condition.
  • Ensure cleanliness of equipment and operator cab.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years of equipment operation in a civil construction environment.
  • Significant skills in operating graders, excavators, loaders and/or dozers (can be limited to one specialty).
  • Ability to work and follow directions in challenging work environments.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team.
  • Must be willing and capable of performing physical labour when needed.
  • Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, reach etc…
  • Punctual and available to work.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.

Work Conditions

  • Travel to various sites will be required.
  • Outdoor environment in various weather conditions.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
