SCOPE
Reporting to the Manager, Sexual Assault Resource Centre, the incumbent provides project management, and operational support to the Manager with respect to gender-based violence prevention and awareness education, programs, and initiatives.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Organize, coordinate and document offerings, programming, special projects, events, campaigns and activities in support of SARC’s mandate and that foster campus-wide prevention and awareness, as directed and prioritized by the Manager.
• Research, analyze, and document best practices for gender-based violence prevention and awareness programming.
• Collaborate with other university units to integrate prevention programming into academic and non-academic activities.
• Actively engage with internal and external organizations and stakeholders to identify opportunities for prevention programming and to support a cohesive approach to prevention.
• Contribute to SARC’s strategic prevention planning, identifying gaps, and proposing improvements to align with emerging prevention trends.
• Develop internships and other for credit educational opportunities for students in collaboration with the Faculties.
• Collaborate with on and off-campus partners to develop and deliver an education plan that will include campaigns, online and print resources, programs and events on the topic of sexual misconduct and sexual violence on campus and will also include related University policies, guidelines and processes.
• Prepare and provide briefings for the SARC Manager to inform strategic decision-making.
• Manage schedules, communications, and documentation for prevention-related committees and initiatives.
• Draft communications, reports and materials for reporting purposes and to enhance awareness and engagement in prevention programming.
• Perform other duties in support of the SARC mandate.
• Represent the Manager at University meetings or events as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in social science discipline such as psychology, sociology, education, social work, gender studies or related with 4-7 years of experience related to sexual and gender-based violence.
• Knowledge of the University environment and of the Quebec higher education system an asset.
• Good spoken and written English (Level 4) and good spoken French (Level 4) to consult with internal and external resources and develop bilingual programming.
• Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel and knowledge of data analysis software.
• Expertise in sexual and gender-based violence prevention including applying best practices.
• Experience developing and delivering violence prevention programming
• Superior project and event planning and delivery skills
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods, data collection and analysis.
• Experience with grant writing and securing funds from internal and external competitions.
• Superior research, academic writing and reporting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, organizational, and communication skills
• Superior ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
• Ease with providing advice and support to senior management.
• Diligent attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
• Understanding of equity, intersectionality and anti-oppression principles an asset.
• Ability to work outside of normal operating hours
