About the role
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Plant Matienance and Operations, the Painter prepares and applies interior and exterior building finishes such as paint, wall vinyl, shellac, varnishes and other related trade products. Other duties include, not are not limited to:
- Preparing new wall for finishing by removing existing finishes as required to complete the work.
- Repairs existing walls as required, applies finish to new or repaired cabinetry and
- Prepares signage as required.
Hours of Work
Casual relief, as needed
Your Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Painter Certification as issued by Nova Scotia Department of Labour or equivalent combination of training and industry experience.
- Two (2) years’ experience in a similar position an asset.
- Ability to work and effectively communicate in a team environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask when scheduling work requirements.
- Ability to understand and promote privacy and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System and Occupational Health and Safety procedures and protocols.
