About the role
We are looking for a Drafting Technologist to assist with new and ongoing projects. The Drafting Technologist prepares engineering calculations, drawings, and related technical information. Under the guidance of the Engineering and Inspection Manager, the Drafting Technologist performs a variety of work assignments requiring the use of independent judgement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, and other data
- Develop and prepare FEA analysis and engineering calculations for engineer review
- Process 3D scan data
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets·
- Work with Project Delivery team to define and control scope, schedule, and budget on assigned projects
- Log work in company ERP system
- Participate in company and customer safety programs
Required Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma in Design and Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or similar
- Experience
- 0 to 3 years of experience as a Drafting Technologist or a similar role
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Understanding of project management methodologies
- Knowledge of Vault server is not required, but would be an asset
