Dream is looking for a Senior Accountant! We are looking for the best and brightest to join our thriving community. Dream’s Accounting team is currently looking for a Senior Accountant to support our investment in our Toronto-based assets.

What will you do as a Senior Accountant? Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role:
- Take a lead role on the full accounting cycle (results consolidated under IFRS) for multiple development projects;
- Prepare and review internal/external partner reporting for various buildings/assets;
- Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments and external partners;
- Act as lead audit point of contact for various project level audits (in accordance with IFRS/ASPE);
- Prepare and review timely month-end close and ensure recording all pertinent transactions including setting up monthly accruals;
- Assist with construction draw and treasury processes as required to facilitate payments of development costs;
- Prepare consolidating and eliminating entries at different levels of the organization;
- Assist in supervising junior staff as needed
- Collaborate in periodic compliance reporting to lenders, government, partners (training will be provided)
- Participate in various special projects
What type of experience is required? These are some of the things we would like you to bring to the table:

Completed (or close to completing) CPA

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
-
Strong technical accounting knowledge, IFRS and ASPE
-
Audit and/or real estate industry experience is considered an asset
-
Ability to plan, organize and manage work with minimal supervision
-
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
-
Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Highly skilled at multi-tasking and identifying priorities.

Ability to self-review work, reflect and challenge existing processes in search of implementing improvements
Bonus, If You Have Experience In The Following Areas
- Experience with JD Edwards system an asset
