We currently have an opportunity for a Rehabilitation Assistant to work in an interdisciplinary setting with clients who have suffered work related injuries. The successful candidate will help deliver individual and group treatment interventions under the direction of a team of clinicians including an Exercise Therapist, an Occupational Therapist, and a Physiotherapist. The focus of the position is on promoting excellence in client care and assisting injured workers return to work.

Your Rehabilitation Assistant responsibilities:

  • Assisting skilled clinicians in administering client treatments, individually and in group settings.
  • Supervising/instructing client programs, including conditioning exercises and group classes, under the direction of a licensed clinician.
  • Monitoring client progress and reporting issues to clinicians and team members.
  • Charting, entering data and performing other related clerical duties.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the client treatment area (equipment and supplies).

Your experience and skills:

  • A diploma from a recognized two-year Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Previous experience as a Therapy Assistant in an interdisciplinary treatment setting is preferred, particularly if experience is with WCB clientele.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Salary: Pay Grade 6 - $53,199 to $59,125 per annum

This is a temporary, full-time position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. Final candidates for this position are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
