About the role
Optimed Optometry in artSEE Eyewear at the Broadmead Village is looking for a Permanent F/T Receptionist
ArtSEE Eyewear has been a fixture in the Broadmead Village for over 20 years. We are a well established, high service, high knowledge/skill based office who love, love, love to share our passion with our patients and clients. Optimed Optometry has been with us since 2009 and it has grown to be a well respected clinic in the community.
As you would be the front end of this business, you will need to be confident, out going and have clear communication skills.
You will also be working with the general public in both a medical and a customer service position you will need to be empathetic, adaptable and patient.
We are a bustling practice and we must be mindful of patient flow and timing. You must be highly efficient, great at multi tasking and have a lot of energy to get through the day.
Last but not least, you will be a part of a strong, experienced team who truly enjoy working together. You MUST be a team player, generous, naturally happy and open to taking criticism, discussing challenges and be interested in growing together.
Your typical day would include the following:
*greeting patients and checking them in for their exams.
*preparing exams, neutralizing eye wear
*pre-testing (OCT, Retinal camera, FDT, K&R readings, pressures).
*cleaning/sterilization between patients
*answering phones
*making appointments
-doctor referrals
-msp billing
- insurance billing
-sales of readers, sunglasses, eye drops, magnifiers etc
-cleaning and minor repairs on glasses
Preference will be to those with experience in the optical field. If you have experience in other medical offices and would like to transition into Optometry, please feel free to apply. There is a steep learning curve so be prepared to take in a lot in the first month if you are new to the industry.
Wage will be dependent on experience. Great benefits package.
