Temporary External Posting 202 5 -202 6 District Indigenous Success Teacher qathet School District invites applications from qualified teachers for a temporary (1.00 FTE) District Indigenous Success Teacher position starting September 2, 2025.

The District serves the educational needs of approximately 3000 students through elementary and secondary (Gr. 8-12) schools and other educational programs and employs approximately 400 staff.

Located on the Sunshine Coast, combining the natural beauty, amazing outdoor recreation opportunities associated with the Powell River lifestyle, and an exciting and fulfilling work environment, it is ideal for those pursuing a healthy balance both professionally and personally.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a teacher education program through a recognized post secondary institution
  • Current teaching certificate in BC
  • Good level of familiarity with ʔayʔaǰuθəm and commitment to continue to develop fluency
  • Knowledge of ɬaʔamɩn culture

Salary The annual salary for teaching positions range from $61,415 to $109,520, with placement on the grid based on length of service, qualifications and FTE, in accordance with the collective agreement.
