About the role
The day camp lifeguard/waterfront director will ensure safe waterfront activities and provide water safety & swimming training for the children in a faith-based licensed day camp. While not at the waterfront the student will engage in leading regular nature-based day camp activities, such as supervision & leading games, hikes, nature activities crafts, etc, and assisting with administration, parent communication, and promotion of the program.
Thrive program staff are energetic, outdoorsy adults 19 or older who have previous experience leading children in faith-based group settings. Day Camp positions work 40-45 hrs a week during the Summer Program (July and August).
The ideal candidate loves to be with children and see them grow, they will be skilled in and enjoy some of the following: swimming, sports, hiking, nature activities, arts and crafts, song leading, and games.

Qualifications
- Have prior experience leading children in a group setting
- 20 hours or more of child-related training (willing to train the right person)
- Emergency child or community first aid certificate with CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear criminal record check
- THRIVE staff don’t just supervise, they actively engage in all activities with the children so physical energy is a must!
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
License/Certification:
- First aid CPR Level B or C? (preferred)
- Class 4 or 5 driver's license? (preferred)
Work Location: In person

Salary: $18.00-21.00 per hour
