Data & Analytics Manager – Governance & Privacy

Are you excited about leading and managing high-performance teams across data and analytics?

As the data and analytics manager for governance and privacy at Best Buy Canada, you will lead the data governance and privacy initiatives and programs. Your leadership will be instrumental in the development and execution of strategies that prioritize the management, protection, and ethical use of data assets.

Your role is to architect our data governance framework, ensuring it aligns with Canadian data legislation, and to drive innovation in data analysis and business intelligence, all while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity and privacy.

We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive data governance and management frameworks to ensure data accuracy, availability, and security.
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to establish data standards, policies, and procedures that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee data compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead data quality initiatives to improve the reliability and value of data assets.
  • Facilitate data governance committees and provide training to staff on data handling best practices.
  • Serve as a liaison between various technology and business stakeholders to support data analytics and strategy development.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data architecture, business intelligence, or related fields in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in data governance, data quality management, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian data protection legislation, including Law 25, PIPEDA, and CASL and demonstrated implementation of data compliance measures in and enterprise organization.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic focus on leveraging data for business growth.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with experience in mentoring teams in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Annualized base pay range

$129,000.00 - $142,000.00This role has a bonus component to it on top of the base salary.

Starting pay offered will consider skills and experience. Your pay can grow as you build your career with us.
