Here’s our Current Opening:
Position: Embroidery Operator – Campus Outfitters, full time hourly
Reports to: Supervisor, In-house Garment Production, Campus Outfitters
Division: Retail
Location: North York, Dufferin & Steeles
Here’s what you’ll be doing ….
As part of a fantastic entrepreneurial team, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, develop new skills and train on various embroidery and digital printing processes. You’ll work with all aspects of custom order garment production and operate embroidery machines.
Our experienced team members invite candidates to join our team: we are looking for candidates who are excited by embroidery, digital printing, and new learning opportunities. While we appreciate experience, we invite candidates who have an interest in learning about embroidery. Your interest and aptitude will drive the direction of your training experience!
We’d like you to be available to work approximately 25 – 35 hours weekly. Our Campus Outfitters business operates year-round, and we offer flexible scheduling including early morning, and late afternoon shifts along with weekend day shifts. We are located at Dufferin Street and Steeles Avenue with easy access to TTC.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare garments for decoration
• Operate the equipment in compliance with quality and safety standards
• Decorate garments using embroidery, printing or heat transfers
• Perform regular production quality control
• Unpack, tag and pack product; maintain the storage space
• Assist supervisor with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
Here’s what we are looking for:
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
• High school graduate, or combination education/experience
• 1-2 years’ production experience is preferable, willing to train
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Organized; attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 notably Outlook, Excel and Word
• Energetic; you thrive in a team environment
• Move/lift cartons/product weighing up 25 kg
• Intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning is highly valued – a growth mindset

The U of T Bookstore provides many important goods and services to the University of Toronto community. We operate four stores across the three U of T campuses (St. George, Mississauga, Scarborough, and Faculty of Law) and a large online shop that ships Canada-wide and internationally. We offer a wide selection of course materials including new, used, digital, and custom course pack options, all competitively priced with a student budget in mind. We also carry U of T–branded clothing and merchandise, gifts, trade books, technology products, school supplies, and more.
Campus Outfitters offers a variety of clothing and accessory customization services. With origins in the world of collegiate apparel and spirit wear, we have become one of the go-to producers of custom clothing for Canadian universities and colleges. We specialize in embroidery and offer on-demand customized apparel service. Beyond our work with academic institutions, we have extensive experience working with student groups, corporate clients, athletic teams and individual customers.
