Job Description
The Senior Process Engineer is a dynamic part of the Accounting team and drives continuous improvement throughout Tricon's accounting processes. This key role is focused on identifying inefficiencies, uncovering bottlenecks, and recommending scalable solutions that improve accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency within our financial operations.
The incumbent is a cross-functional collaborator, who works closely with the accounting, finance, operations, and technology teams to evaluate current workflows, introduce best practices, and support automation and transformation initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze end-to-end accounting processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for automation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to map current workflows and document process pain points.
- Develop and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Partner with IT or third-party vendors to support systems enhancements or integrations as needed.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of improvements and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Facilitate workshops or working groups to engage teams in change initiatives and process redesign.
- Maintain process documentation and ensure process changes are clearly communicated and adopted.
- Support audit, compliance, and reporting activities by ensuring processes are well-controlled and transparent.
Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows (Accounts Processing, Accounts Receivable, month-end close, reconciliations, etc.).
- Experience with process mapping tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, BPMN).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Yardi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in process improvement, process engineering, accounting operations, or a similar role.
