Job Description:

The HR Capability Transformation Lead will drive strategic planning and execution of HR transformation initiatives. This leader will leverage HR strategy, technology, process, and policy to deliver organizational value.

The role involves collaborating cross-functionally, streamlining processes, and leading transformational change. Success in this role requires a results-driven mindset, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate in ambiguous, minimally guided environments.

Key Accountabilities:

Lead HR Transformation Strategy: Spearhead both short- and long-term HR transformation initiatives, aligning with The Salvation Army’s mission and values.

Act as Strategic Advisor: Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business line leaders, understanding organizational goals and driving alignment with HR priorities.

Drive Solution Delivery: Identify, evaluate, and implement HR technology solutions that are simple, scalable, and compatible with existing systems (e.g., Workday, ServiceNow etc.).

Champion Change Management: Overcome resistance to change, foster innovation, and build credibility through early wins and long-term strategic impact.

Design HR Processes and Policies: Develop and improve HR operating models, policies, and employee lifecycle processes that enhance the employee experience.

Enable Future Workforce Capabilities: Identify needed HR capabilities, tools, and leadership roles to support the future of work and workforce experience strategies.

Lead Project Management & Governance: Establish and oversee governance frameworks, ensuring strong project planning, budgeting, and execution across HR and technology.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with IT, architecture, and operations teams to align HR initiatives with broader enterprise goals.

Stay Informed on HR Tech Trends: Monitor internal and external HR trends, including AI and digital innovation, to recommend relevant strategies and technologies.

Promote Cultural Proficiency: Ensure transformation initiatives are sensitive to the organization's maturity, values, and culture, and are designed for sustainable adoption.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

  • CHRP Certification

  • Master’s degree an asset

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) years’ experience leading the design and implementation of large-scale HR Transformation

  • Previous successful implementation of a major HRIS, LMS will be essential. Workday, ServiceNow experience is an asset.

  • Significant experience building and managing strategic partnerships and alliances in the technology industry.

  • Demonstrated successful experience with governance development and management, resource development, and leading and developing leaders and staff.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $135,102.26 to $168,877.83 with a maximum of $202,653.39.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
