Program Director
About the role
Educare Preschool is accepting applications for a Program Director.
The Program Director oversees the day-to-day operations, the educational programming and ensures funding for Educare Preschool.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing, following & implementing policy & procedures and licencing requirements
- Maintains a professional, respectful attitude, as you are Educare’s first contact.
- Ensures Educare is run under the direction of, and in the accordance with, associated authorities; regulatory bodies; and governing agencies
- Ensures that all other contract agreements are adhered to
- Serve as lead representative of the organization in the community
- Manages registration process, maintains enrollment and waiting lists.
- Manage financials and the development of the annual operating budget
- Purchases supplies as required; adheres to set budget.
- Processes accounts receivable and payable timely and accurately
- Prepares and submits invoices as required; follows up on payment.
- Ensure GST rebates are submitted; financial reports are completed as required; monthly financial reports are provided.
- Ensures organization’s books are audited annually.
- Manages funding/grant processes; fills out applications; adheres to contract requirements; prepares and submits reports
- Manages casino and raffle tickets processes
- Provide support to the board of directors to ensure program is operating successfully and meeting operational and financial benchmarks and targets
- Work collaboratively with a team of professionals which may include speech and language consultants, occupational therapists, behaviour consultants and classroom teachers
- Prepare payroll, T-4’s, Record of Employment forms
- Prepares annual staff contracts
- Works cooperatively with staff to; set and achieve the goals of the organization; make decisions that enhance organizational operation and effectiveness; resolve problems or conflicts.
- Answers phone calls and emails; provides accurate information to questions.
- Files documentation in an organized manner
- Maintains and updates database and website.
- Review and update handbooks
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Strong leadership and problem solving skills.
- Possess strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and programs (Word, Excel, QuickBooks, brightwheel)
- Understands and performs ethically; aligns with the values of the organization and business practices.
- Strong organizational skills; set priorities; develop a work schedule.
- Has knowledge about the operation and process of non-profit organizations.
- Has experience in report/proposal writing.
- Is well motivated and can work independently.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Must have an Bachelor of Education (or equivalent and valid teaching certificate) or Early Childhood Educator Level 3
- 1-3 years’ experience in an office setting
- Grant writing/report
- Direct experience in special needs or equivalent
- Experience developing and implementing IPPs
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check - Intervention Record Check Required
- CPR and First Aid certification Required
