Key Duties:
- Assists patients, staff, and public, in person or by telephone by:
- Placing, directing, transferring calls using a multi-line telephone switchboard
- Providing information and direction and facilitating arrangements for other forms of assistance.
- Monitors fire panel and initiates emergency response calls to appropriate Emergency Services and provides other notifications as required.
- Operates the internal paging system as required.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Works in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the Royal.
- Ensures a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment and Discrimination Free Workplace policy.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
- Previous switchboard experience, preferably using Mitel equipment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to function independently and with confidence in stressful situations.
- Ability to work all shifts.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading & writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset

Salary Range:
$26.98 to $29.37 per hour
