Your Role Choose your own adventure! Let’s talk about how your skills, experience, goals, and passions can find a home at JLR. Your role will include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of paralegals.
- Overseeing the review, identification, analysis, and mitigation of commercial risks and liabilities in bid documents, client agreements, active projects, and supplier agreements.
- Overseeing the drafting of a range of contract documents with clients, suppliers and subconsultants.
- Communicating, both verbally and written, negotiated commercial terms with clients, suppliers and subconsultants.
- Assisting project teams with interpreting contract and statutory language.
- Managing contract changes and assisting with the resolution of claims.
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, planners, and technical teams to ensure alignment of risk strategies in pursuit of project opportunities.
- Understanding standard form construction agreements, professional service agreements and the ability to recognize risk and negotiate liability caps, indemnity clauses, standard of care obligations, intellectual property rights, insurance requirements, and other commercial terms and conditions.
- Embrace AI-powered contract review tools or show the flexibility to learn and adapt quickly.

Porcupine Engineering Services is a professional services firm providing clients with a comprehensive range of services including multi-discipline engineering (conceptual and detailed design), project management, planning & scheduling, feasibility studies, cost estimates, procurement, shop inspection & field services, construction management, commissioning and start-up, and production & maintenance support. We also offer a number of professionals who can be deployed on secondment basis to suit all of your company's needs. On secondment the employee will complete duties assigned by you, the client.
With offices in Timmins and Sudbury, our team is composed of professional engineers, project managers, technologists, technicians, coordinators and support staff. We have associations with a number of specialists and other consultants to enable us to provide a broader range of services.
