About the role

About the Company: Technical Sales Representative (Western Canada)

About the Role: Report to: Regional Sales Manager

Territory Responsibility: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Yukon, NWT, Nunavut

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the direct sale of electrical test and measurement products to the following served markets: Investor Owned Utilities, Cooperatives/Municipalities, Power Plants, Industrial/OEM, Electrical Contractor, Services Industry, and Government
  • Extensive customer interface requires Technical Sales Representative to reside within the territory
  • Must have excellent time and territory management skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Ability to interpret non-verbal communication cues in order to close sales
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Skills and Competencies:
  • Education: Degree a plus, BSEE preferred
  • Experience: Requires four years’ experience in sales to electric utilities, apparatus manufacturers and heavy industrial facilities
  • Technical background should include knowledge of transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, power cables, motors and protective relays
  • Additional Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently as well as within small teams
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task with ability to get things done
  • Self-directed professional with the ability to maintain own schedule and prioritization of your day
  • Strong organizational skills

External Contacts:

  • Extensive customer interface requires Technical Sales Representative to reside within the territory

Travel Requirements:

  • Requires approximately 50% travel. A company vehicle will be provided.
