About the role
BCIT’s School of Energy is seeking a temporary, full-time (1.0 FTE**) Faculty, Mechanical Engineering** who is an enthusiastic, team-oriented professional with a broad, practical knowledge of mechanical systems for buildings. The successful applicant can expect to be assigned courses across a range of areas related to mechanical systems and must have a strong commitment to teaching and interacting with students, an ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and an interest in developing and delivering quality curriculum.
Duties & Responsibilities
The department of Mechanical Engineering at BCIT offers an accredited degree and diplomas in Mechanical Engineering. The primary goal of the programs is to graduate highly-qualified, practical mechanical technologists and engineers who are eligible for professional registration.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS**:**

Master’s Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years of experience in a relevant engineering environment.

Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.

Experience with the design of building services such as HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

Experience with software for HVAC load analysis
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language.

Strong presentation skills.

Strong digital literacy skills.
-
Effective interpersonal skills.
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in teams.
-
Post-secondary teaching or industry mentorship experience is an asset.

Experience with eLearning is an asset.

Salary Range
$65,045 - $113,545 per annum.
Additional Salary Information
Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
