Aviva Canada is seeking a passionate individual to join the Reserving team as an Actuarial Manager (Individual Contributor). The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading the quarterly reserve review, communicating financial insights to key stakeholders, and contributing to exciting projects focused on designing and implementing more efficient reserving processes and reporting tools.

What You'll Do
- Analyzes the adequacy of the company's claim reserves using both standard actuarial techniques and advanced reserving models incorporating machine learning methods.
- Supports the Quarterly Reserve Committee and year-end valuation reporting.
- Maintains monitoring reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides insights into the company’s financial performance from a reserving perspective.
- Builds strong relationships with company-wide partners and collaborates with business units to understand the reserve impact on their respective portfolios.
- Develops enhancements to current processes to improve efficiency.
What You'll Bring
- FCAS/FCIA designation with 5+ years of P&C actuarial experience, or 10+ years of experience with expertise equivalent to an FCAS.
- Reserving experience is considered an asset.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective team player with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on both technical implementation and strategic perspective.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and VBA.
- Experience with SAS, SQL, and Python is an asset.
