Overview
Strum Consulting is currently looking to expand our Geotechnical team and has an opening in our Antigonish office for a Geotechnical Field Technician to join our team.
Duties
- Adhering to Strum’s health and safety program and ensuring safety procedures and protocols are followed and improved/revised if/as necessary.
- Materials testing on interesting construction projects including testing and sampling concrete, soil and asphalt.
- Construction monitoring and inspection.
- Geotechnical investigations including borehole and test pits.
- Geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Collection of accurate data in the field using various types of equipment.
- Compilation of clear, concise, and accurate field notes.
- Data tabulation and analysis.
- Technical report writing for the above-noted projects.
- Estimation of project budgets and assistance with proposal preparation.
Qualifications
- Willingness to learn and work as a member of a team comprised of biologists, engineers, and technicians.
- Must possess a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment to a high degree of detail.
- The successful candidate will need to use their own vehicle for work travel purposes, have a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, and be willing to travel to projects located throughout Atlantic Canada.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
