EV Logistics is currently seeking a Financial Business Analyst to join the team. This individual will work closely with the Finance and Operations teams to secure our financial success. In this role, the successful candidate will assist in business planning, reporting, development, and financial analysis. As a dynamic individual, you will be able to work through day-to-day duties with the ability to identify opportunities and work on projects that support the businesses continuous improvement and innovative culture.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support in all areas of the operation as needed and requested.
- Manage and maintain the month end process for the sites in collaboration with the other members of the finance team.
- Manage the centralized AP accounting processes for a network of sites in collaboration with our corporate team.
- Lead and maintain the procurement process and support the operations team to secure vendors and competitive contract pricing.
- Participate in an active and contributing role to identify potential areas of risk, gather relevant data to support financial risk analysis and escalate identified areas of risk to the appropriate level.
- Apply and understand basic accounting controls and techniques to ensure accurate reporting.
- Provide support and recommendations to key business partners regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.
- Participate in the necessary daily activity to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for associates.
- Support critical financial planning processes such as business forecasting, scenario planning, and business performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Currently Enrolled or a Recent Graduate of the CPA Program.
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office Suite, Oracle and other applications.
- 2 – 5 years’ experience in an Accounting or Financial Reporting Role.
- Reliable transportation (our site is not accessible by transit).
- Working schedule: M-F with occasional Stats to meet month-end deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles.
- Distinctive problem solving and data analysis skills.
- Effective business judgement and the ability to communicate with management teams.
- Ability to articulate facts to help others drive to a conclusion.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Previous Logistics/Warehouse industry experience considered an asset.
