Bookkeeper (Full Time) – Under Accountant

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced bookkeeper. The candidate will work under the comptroller/accountant managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial principles.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping: AP/AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
- Maintain general ledger and financial records
- Assist with payroll data entry and coordination
- Interact with students for tuition payments, account inquiries, and financial aid support
- Collaborate with the Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
- Support audit preparation and documentation as needed
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections..
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Maintain organized documentation for all financial transactions and audits.
- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Experience
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account analysis, and account reconciliation is highly desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are a must.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
