About the role

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working in conjunction with the Maintenance and Production teams, the Maintenance Purchaser works with the maintenance and production leadership to source supplies and materials, create purchase orders and follow up on delivery and manage inventory.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:

· Edits purchase requests and prepare purchase orders

· Consults catalogues and other references to obtain prices and specifications

· Maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories, and deliveries

· Performs related clerical duties i.e. filing

· Working within JD Edwards to produce work orders for the maintenance of the corrugated and converting machines and create a tracking system for the assignment and completion of the work orders

· Manage open P/O’s and no GR list

· Manages the ordering, receiving, and locations of all incoming parts

· Maintain spare part inventory to a min/max level as well as the organization of all parts storage areas.

· Manages and maintains the maintenance budget

· Contact vendors and suppliers for quotations and follow up on outstanding purchase orders

· Coordinates plant/maintenance department materials purchasing applications to effectively plan all maintenance work projects with Maintenance Coordinator

· Monitors with the guidance of the Maintenance Manager in managing the maintenance department’s operating budget to ensure compliance with the outlined budgetary goals

· Shows flexibility in adjusting to operations and business demands.

· Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed:

· Must have experience in working in Manufacturing Maintenance Environment

· Minimum of 2 years Maintenance Purchaser/Clerk preferred

· Be a strategic thinker and develop short and long-term actions that are aligned with the organizational goals

· Possess strong problem solving and analytical skills

· Be able to communicate strategies and approaches resulting in a clear understanding

· Be able to resolve conflicts and disagreements in a constructive manner

· Be proficient with Microsoft Office – outlook, excel and productivity suite.

· Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
