About the Job:

Plant Matter Kitchen, London’s leading plant-based restaurant, is hiring a Part-Time Line Cook for immediate start. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on culinary experience, build plant-based cooking skills, and work alongside our Executive Chef in a professional open-concept kitchen.

We’re hiring specifically for Mondays (10:00 AM – 8:00 PM). This is a set weekly shift. There may be occasional opportunities to pick up additional weekend shifts, but consistent availability for Mondays is required.

Who This Is Perfect For:

  • Culinary students or recent graduates looking for hands-on experience
  • Experienced line cooks looking for a steady part-time role
  • Anyone passionate about plant-based cooking and eager to learn

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prep and execute dishes on the line during service
  • Learn and apply plant-based cooking techniques
  • Follow recipes and plating standards with precision
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with the kitchen team
  • Taste and evaluate food throughout prep and service

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum 1 year of line cook experience (culinary school experience counts)
  • Knife skills and solid understanding of kitchen fundamentals
  • Valid Food Handlers Certification required
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently after training
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Willing to learn, taste, and refine plant-based cooking techniques
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure

Wage: $17/hour

Schedule:
