We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator 1 (HEOI) to join our Transportation team. This position is responsible to operate a variety of light and heavy equipment, supporting the construction and maintenance of highways, recreational roads, airstrips, and other facilities across Yukon. Essential Qualifications
Please submit your resume clearly demonstrating how you meet the qualifications below. Selections for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume.
- Experience operating various heavy equipment such as dump trucks, loaders or other equipment.
- Experience performing minor maintenance or servicing of equipment, including greasing, adjusting brakes, changing oil, filters, or air filters.
- Experience completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections or other safety procedures.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

Conditions of Employment
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment:
- Yukon Class 3 driver’s license with air endorsement,
- Pass TMB Competency assessment on heavy equipment (loader and dump truck). Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate (to be obtained within 6 months of hire).
Job Requirements
This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements:

Travel throughout the territory,

Working in adverse weather conditions,
-
Use personal protective equipment.

Personal tool kit.
-
Steel-toed work boots
