About the role
Associate Physicians are registered for supervised practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) under the Limited Practice Registry and provide clinical support under the direction of Covenant Medical Staff. In this position you will deliver care to patients at either the MCH or GNH sites within a multidisciplinary team in Family Medicine, GIM, Surgery, or the Operating Room. You will be working alongside physicians, nurses, pharmacists and dieticians. Job duties often include examination of the patient, documenting the history, conducting a complete physical examination, developing a treatment plan in consultation with the attending/supervising physician, writing appropriate orders, and entering these orders into the patient care electronic or manual system. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must have one of: A current Limited Practice Register – Clinical Assistant license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) or be eligible to participate in assessment by meeting the below requirements. The requirements are as follows: Be a Canadian Citizen, or a Permanent Resident of Canada at the time of application. Have completed a medical school located outside of Canada and the United States (see the World Directory of Medical Schools). Have completed at least one full year (minimum 12 months) of Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) of hands-on training after having obtained his/her medical degree. *Note: Concurrency of practice is required. Have passed the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part 1 (MCCQE1) before submitting the application. Have passed an English language proficiency test within 24 months before submitting the application.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Please ensure application includes a current CV, a Cover Letter referencing the preferred area of practice. Cover Letters must include current contact information including preferred phone and email addresses and must be signed and dated. Applicants must have an English Language Test that will NOT expire within 3 months of the closing date of this posting.
