We are looking for 1-2 Personal Support Workers to assist our male employer who is non-verbal and in the end stage of ALS with all activities of daily living.

The successful candidates will have complex care experience, understand ALS and have ventilator experience.

Location:

• Richmond (Near Russel Sean Fitness)

Shifts & Hours of Work:

• 7 - 10 hour evening shifts available
• Friday, Saturday and Sundays
• Start time to be discussed with employer
• Must be available midday on weekdays for training
• On call for sick coverage
• To be discussed further with the employer

Compensation:

• $26.25 an hour for 2 training shifts
• $27.00 an hour after training

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

• Daily personal care such as showering, and dressing
• Ceiling lift and sling lift transfers
• Tracheostomy care, ventilation as the employer is on a ventilator 24/7, cough assist, G-tube feeding and medication administration
• Use of manual chair
• Light house keeping duties such as laundry

Required Qualifications:

• Ventilator experience
• Complex care experience
• Non-smoking
• Wearing a mask
• Yearly Flu shot and Covid vaccines
• First Aid Certificate
• Caregiving experience
• Prop course and training
• Comfortable working in an environment with dogs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Health Care Certificate
• Valid Canadian Driver's license (Class 5, 7N, ect)
• Experience with lifts (Ceiling lift and Sling)
