MAKING AN IMPACT
Reporting to the Director, Content Development & Influencer Partnerships, this role will focus a primarily on Content Creation Support & Planning. This will require a high degree of creativity, communication, and organization in order to best support videography and editing needs. This role will also require partnering with teams across the Canadian Cancer Society in order to coordinate content capturing and production of a variety of different organization developments, campaigns etc. Feedback and content analysis will also be required as part of this role to ensure that content being delivered are meeting expectations of what is required amongst the teams.
This role is based out of our Toronto office but may require travel as needed to support content capturing opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:**
- C****ontent Support & Planning
- Support the Director, Content Development & Influencer Partnerships with videography and editing for CCS video content production.
- Write interview questions, create call sheets and other documents needed to support pre and post-production (freelancer briefs, feedback collection etc.)
- Interview CCS storytellers, researchers or internal spokespeople for content production.
- Advise on content creation across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Partner with freelance videographers and editors to ensure alignment with organizational standards and goals.
- Develop video content and assets for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, LinkedIn and any other channels as they come up.
- Ensure copy and visuals, including video content, are highly engaging, and follow CCS writing manual guidelines and brand guidelines.
- Learn CCS style-guide and enforce our brand standards across video outputs.
- Liaise with subject matter experts across the organization to ensure accuracy of information when positioning information about CCS.
- Support project management of both small- and large-scale video production shoots for a variety of content outputs, primarily in English but also in French if possible.
- Content Capture and Production
- Support content development and execution of content plan aligned with CCS’s organizational strategic plan that meets the content needs of our fundraising, mission and operations teams.
- Stay attuned to relevant news, trending content or organizational developments that may be suitable for content development and execution.
- Attend all relevant briefings from team leads (e.g. brand marketing, communications, mass marketing, advocacy, signature programs) for various campaigns or throughout the year (Daffodil, Day on the Hill, Holiday etc.).
- Partner with the Quebec team on marketing and social media French-specific content.
- Support relationships with storytellers who have been selected to be featured in CCS content including communication and scheduling.
- Effectively communicate deadlines and manage video guidelines and release forms.
- Assist Director with tracking business unit budgeting and invoicing for content productions4.
- Team up on the development of other media including but not limited to photography, written content and audio podcasts.
- Content Evaluation
- Gather and assess content performance to gain insight with the goal of informing future content decisions and to improve ROI for CCS.
- Support feedback loop with internal CCS teams for tracking and learning from content performance on platforms.
- Liaise with other departments at the organization to learn and ensure content delivery met the needs of requester and gain insights on performance on other channels including e-comm, donor engagement and paid media.
- Work with Digital Engagement team to support content distribution as needed.
- Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a video production, video editing, content creation, social media role
- Video content production skills including filming and editing all types of outputs (social, digital, web).
- Experience creating, publishing, and curating video content for brand channels
- Understanding of digital media marketing best practices and content accessibility compliance
- Video editing skills and knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro. (After Effects is considered an asset)
- Basic design skills and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom or Illustrator is considered an asset
- Storytelling and creativity are a must; the ability to interview an individual and relay their story with compassion, authenticity and accuracy.
- Organized, deadline-oriented multi-tasker with an attention to detail
- Demonstrates good judgement, high degree of empathy and decision-making – able to use both data and intuition to inform decisions
- Ability to work as a team player and demonstrate responsiveness and personal initiative to complete the work
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- A team player who values an environment of open communication and partnership
- English is required, French/Bilingualism (French /English) is an asset due to the organization’s nationwide operations
