Join Our Team: Accounting Clerk
Location: Thorold | Full-Time Position
CAA Niagara is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team. In this role, you’ll play an important part in supporting day-to-day financial operations while working closely with departments and vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial information.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Associate Director, Accounting, the Accounting Clerk provides essential support to the Finance department by assisting with various accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks. You’ll work with vendor programs, internal reports, and financial systems to help ensure our accounting processes run smoothly.
This is a collaborative role that requires accuracy, organization, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process invoices, payments, and deposits in line with company policies
- Reconcile transactions and monthly statements for both payables and receivables
- Review vendor charges to ensure accuracy and follow up on discrepancies
- Maintain organized records of financial documents and payment authorizations
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare Excel spreadsheets and summaries for internal reporting
- Assist in generating financial reports and tracking key trends
- Support the monthly close process by organizing and reviewing data
Vendor & Team Support
- Communicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve account issues
- Maintain positive vendor relationships through timely and professional follow-up
- Assist with onboarding processes for new vendors or contractors
Note: Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.

- Strong attention to detail and a love for working with numbers
- Confidence navigating multiple systems and financial tools
- Ability to manage deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal
- Trustworthy with confidential information
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts receivable/payable
- post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems considered an asset
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and internal control practices
