Summary of Position
Reporting to the foreman, operators are an integral member of field operations, responsible for providing support on all of our projects.
Role and Responsibilities
Perform live excavations below and above ground live utilities.
Excavate to support construction of foundations, piping and electrial duct banks within a 30mm tollerance
Working with the ground crew to expose and excavate near existing utilities
Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment, including pre & post trip inspections
Follow directions of ground crew (spotter) regarding hoisting, material placement and grading.
Follow company policies & procedures regarding SWP’s, inspections, and incidents etc.
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications, Training and Education
Minimum 3 seasons experience with sloping, leveling, cutting grade (finish work)
Minimum 5 seasons experience as an operator
Experience operating on facility projects is an asset
Gradesman experience is considered an asset
Must have valid CSTS-2020, WHMIS 2015, Ground Disturbance and CSA approved 6” steel toe work boots
Hard working, positive attitude & willingness to learn
Desire to complete tasks in a timely manner
Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required
Working Conditions
Operators will be working outside in all weather conditions. They must be able to spend long periods of time sitting in their vehicle, or walking/standing on the job site. They must be willing to commit to 50 + hours per week at various project locations. Typical shifts are 7:00am - 5:30pm.
