About the Role
As a Senior Python Engineer , you'll be joining a cross-functional team focused on modernizing and scaling internal and customer-facing applications. The dev stack includes Python, Django, AWS, and GitHub, with some services written in Golang. You'll work closely with product, DevOps, and other engineers to design and deliver performant APIs, scalable backend services, and a solid CI/CD ecosystem.
You'll also help mentor junior developers and influence best practices as the team continues to grow and evolve.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications and APIs ( Python/Django)
- Participate in performance tuning, testing, and deployment using CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate on system architecture and technical design
- Contribute to DevOps best practices and infrastructure automation
- Work closely with product and business teams to understand user needs and translate them into elegant backend solutions
- Review code, mentor developers, and help establish engineering standards
- Investigate issues, fix bugs, and continually improve system performance
What We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
- 10+ years of professional development experience
- 5+ years building applications in Python (especially Django or Flask)
- Experience designing and deploying APIs (RESTful)
- Strong experience with AWS or other cloud platforms
- Solid Linux command-line skills
- SQL and data modeling experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI or similar)
- Clear communicator and team player
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with Golang, Redis, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, Celery, uWSGI, or Nginx
- Experience mentoring devs or leading coding standards initiatives
- GitHub for version control and collaboration
- Passion for travel, sustainability, and giving back
