Rombald is expanding from Waterloo and opening a Halifax office to service the East coast market. We have an exciting opening for a junior or intermediate Electrical Engineer in the building services – consultant field. We love what we do and are looking for someone who is also interested and energetic about the consulting industry.
Drafting electrical distribution and lighting systems designs with the support of electrical designers. With experience will take on own projects as you learn more with ample training opportunities.
The position requires Revit experience and/or AutoCAD experience, knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and National Building Code is also required. Previous experience with electrical drafting and design of electrical distribution and lighting systems is a requirement, as well as knowledge of life safety and fire alarm design.
Description of Duties:
You will work alongside electrical design professionals and be responsible for the design, drawing development, specifications and construction review of projects in the electrical field.
Also expect to be involved with client interface to coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, and mechanical components of a building system.
Following the design stage, you will also participate in electrical construction review required during the construction phase of a project. The purpose of reviewing the electrical work shall be for compliance to design, problem resolution of site-specific issues and final review of construction work prior to owner occupancy.
Compensation commensurate with the applicant’s prior experience and education.
Other expectations:
- Previous experience in the electrical building service design including electrical distribution, life safety, fire alarm and lighting systems designs is required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or REVIT is required.
- Site review during construction work.
- Paid Overtime work to meet specific deliverable commitments, not often but as needed.
- Successful applicant will have a strong attention to detail, be reliable, have time management and organizational skills, ability to learn new concepts quickly, possess strong oral and written communication skills to achieve clear and unambiguous design information.
- 40 hours per week standard, afternoons off during the summer.

We provide electrical and mechanical design drawings and specifications for power distribution, lighting, life safety, communications, plumbing, HVAC and energy efficiency solutions for a wide range of clients. We are expanding to Halifax to serve the East coast market with a mechanical designer already located in Halifax. The candidate will be working a combination from home and with the mechanical designer in Halifax with opportunities to work on East coast and Ontario based projects including opportunities to train remotely and in Ontario.

Pay: $55,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
