We are looking for a Woodlands Accountant to join our Cariboo Woodlands Division located in Williams Lake, British Columbia. Cariboo Woodlands is responsible for managing approximately 1,200,000m3, delivered to our Soda Creek and Lakeview Divisions annually. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

University degree or diploma in accounting, or equivalent is an asset.

Working towards a CPA designation is preferred but not required.
-
Minimum of two years related experience.
-
Ability to work in a team environment.
-
Excellent interpersonal, time management, attention to detail, and communication skills.
-
Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong analytical and decision-making capability.
-
Proficiency in forward planning and project management.
-
Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
-
General knowledge of the forest industry is an asset.

In this role you will:

Assist in month-end financial reporting, including variance reports and account analysis.
-
Prepare and update financial statement formats, reconciliations, and journal entries.
-
Ensure controls are in place for the division.
-
Assist in the compilation and reporting of month-end inventories.
-
Assist in the preparation of the year-end audit file, annual budget, and forecasts.
-
Operate in a safe manner in accordance with work safe rules, regulations, and policies.
