Job Description :
The Physiotherapist is accountable for the following:
- Assessment of patients with physical dysfunction of the cardio-pulmonary, musculo-skeletal and neurological systems
- Planning and implementation of treatment plans to improve movement/function, alleviate pain, and optimize respiratory function
- Participate in patient discharge planning
- Document patient assessments in the health record
- Collaboration with the interprofessional healthcare team, patients and their families to achieve set patient goals and augment the treatment plan as needed
- Providing education to the interprofessional team to support evidence based care
- Assigning to support personnel
Qualifications
- Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited School of Physiotherapy
- Registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- C.P.A. member preferred
- Experience treating post-acute medically complex patient population preferred
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated effectiveness working independently as well as liaising with the interprofessional team
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support preferred Satisfactory performance and attendance required
