Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Record patient medical histories and maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Opendental
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the office.
- Handle administrative tasks, including billing and insurance verification when necessary.
- Collaborate with orthodontic procedures and assist in implant dentistry as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and equipment is essential.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Opendental is a plus.
- Experience in orthodontics or implants is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is preferred but not mandatory.
