Job Description

Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the team. Reporting to the Manager, Events (and indirectly to the VP, Marketing & Sales), the successful candidate will have expertise in event operations, learning program coordination, as well as a passion for workforce development in the environmental sector.

As a key member of the Learning and Events team, the Training and Events Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and execution of various training programs and events organized by ECO Canada. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality training sessions and events that align with the organization's mission and goals. While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of their ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, marketing, coordinating, executing and follow-up on training, webinars, and events.
  • Support event registration processes and maintain accurate records of participants.
  • Assist in the delivery and improvement of training programs to meet government funding requirements and revenue targets.
  • Assist with the development of content for training, webinars, and events as needed.
  • Recommend or implement appropriate training program improvements based on collecting and analyzing feedback, trending information, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain curriculum database and training records in our LMS.
  • Respond to participant training inquiries, trouble-shooting problems with online courses and processing client purchasing transactions.
  • When requested, assist the Sales and Marketing team with promoting our training by prospecting, marketing activities, and client outreach.
  • Additional tasks as required for other projects and programs within the organization.

Qualifications

  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to build and maintain relationships
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Ability to deal with change and adapt to new circumstances quickly.
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), as well as general computer skills including file management, data entry, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual (French) is a definite asset.

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in the field of education, business, marketing, communications, human services, event management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating training programs and/or Projects.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management, Customer Relations, and/or Records Management systems; specifically administering Zoom, Teams, Absorb, GoToWebinar, Articulate/Storyline/Rise, WordPress, and/or Shopify is an asset.
  • Previous experience working in the environmental sector is an asset.

This role is a temporary contract position until January 31, 2027**.**

This role is based at ECO Canada’s Calgary head office (unless otherwise noted). After a 3-month probation period, eligible employees may transition to a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week in the office.
