Are you a systems-savvy leader with a passion for streamlining operations and a knack for market navigation? We're searching for a dynamic Operations Controller to join our Head Office team in Edmonton, AB, for a maternity cover-off. This vital role will focus on leading and optimizing our operational-based systems and navigating the market to develop best-in-class Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
About the Role
As our Operations Controller, you'll step into a crucial role, instrumental in enhancing our operational efficiency and effectiveness during this important period. You'll lead the charge in streamlining our internal systems, from onboarding and offboarding processes to financial reporting accuracy, ensuring seamless and efficient operations. Your keen eye for market trends will guide our development of robust and adaptable operational SOPs, keeping us at the forefront of our industry.
You'll report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will lead our Operations Administrator.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading System Optimization: You'll oversee and streamline our operational reporting structures, including bonus sheet control and referral payouts. This involves acting as the main point of contact for our Push Operations team, managing all company Push accounts, and continuously integrating labor tracking and monitoring across all accounts.
- Driving Operational Excellence: You'll manage Head Office employee onboarding for operational systems and files, coordinating all employee Givex cards (including onboarding, offboarding, and monthly bonus cards). You'll also prepare and analyze employee usage reports for Givex cards and manage AnyDay account setup, troubleshooting, and updates, as well as wallet payouts and transfers.
- Navigating Market for SOPs: You'll be responsible for identifying market best practices to develop and implement effective operational Standard Operating Procedures. You'll ensure information accuracy within our Operations Playbooks, regularly reviewing and updating content, and maintaining the accuracy of Master Contact Lists.
- Supporting Internal Processes: You'll manage the offboarding process for Operations-based systems and provide essential departmental support to both Head Office and field teams, including cash support as needed. You'll also oversee YGB/Trackman accounts, including setup, troubleshooting, and pricing updates.
What We're Looking For
- Experience:
- Previous experience in managing operations and data analysis is preferred.
- Experience in streamlining operational systems and developing SOPs is highly valued.
- Experience in in-store operations management within similar restaurant, bar, or tavern environments is considered a significant asset.
- Skills:
- Analytical prowess: Ability to analyze operational data and processes to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Impeccable attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in all records and reports.
- Exceptional communication: Effectively coordinating with various departments and providing clear guidance.
- Time management master: Efficiently managing multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem-solver: Identifying challenges and proactively developing strategic solutions.

The Canadian Brewhouse started in Alberta in 2002 with one location that has since grown to 42! Nineteen of our locations are in Alberta, including; the Edmonton area, Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, Red Deer, Camrose, Fort McMurray, Calgary, Okotoks, Airdrie and Cochrane! Our Abbotsford location opened in 2016, and Prince George, Fort Saint John & Richmond opened in 2017. Our one-of-a-kind Canadian themed sports bar & grill has an extensive menu of appetizers, entrees, drinks and amazing specials every night of the week.
