About the role
Baker Tilly Victoria is one of the largest locally owned and operated accounting firms in Victoria. With over 60 staff members and three locations, Uptown, Sidney and Westshore, Baker Tilly can offer clients a wide range of business advisory, auditing, accounting and Canadian/US tax planning and compliance services.
We’re seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring smooth financial operations for our valued clients. Compensation package:

Salary: $50,000 - $53,000

Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Summarizing the client’s books and records
- Management of client’s payroll, payables, receivables, expenses and tax remittances
- Assisting clients with the betterment of record-keeping
- Vacation relief for other bookkeeping staff
- All other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required
The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience, dealing with multiple clients at once

Self-starter, takes initiative

Can work independently with little supervision. Ability to jump into bookkeeping files with minimal support.

Great organization and communication skills

Proficiency and/or experience with: Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word; Bookkeeping applications including Sage, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online; and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Can-do attitude

Experience working in a team-based environment
