About the role

Your Opportunity:

As a Recreation Therapist II, you will take a leadership role in ensuring that the level of therapeutic recreation practice in your clinical area is evidence based, patient-and family-centered and in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice. You will provide clinical leadership to ensure safe and efficient care as well as coordinate the assessment, treatment, education and care of the patient (client, resident). You will participate in program development to ensure effective delivery of services, including the development of protocols, forms, education, and quality improvement initiatives. You will complete assessment, treatment, education and management and provide clinical support and consultation. You will collaborate and communicate with the health care team and participate in patient rounds, family conferences and meetings as related to the client and family. This position includes coordination, client assessment and program planning support for 3 ADP programs, Didsbury, Airdrie and Strathmore. Primary worksite is Didsbury and some occasional travel to the other sites may be required.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies.

Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).

Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies. Active or eligible registration for Professional Membership with Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). Minimum three years' related clinical experience as a Recreation Therapist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Intermediate knowledge of technology, Microsoft suite.
