This position is responsible for providing and performing the highest quality service possible, to the clients of Diagnostic Imaging Services. This is done in an effective, efficient and safe manner. As a member of the Diagnostic Imaging team, this position is responsible for working all shifts and on-call, as assigned. The South Health Campus has four key pillars of service: Collaborative Practice, Wellness, Patient and Family Centered Care, and Innovation. These pillars guide the development and delivery of service of to all patients and families at SHC.
Description:
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of registry exam in Medical Radiation Technology. Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to cooperate. Perception, initiative, accountability, good judgment and concern for detail and accuracy. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work confidently, independently and within collaborative partnerships/teams. Strong organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility. Ability to demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with patients, staff and physicians. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. Practices effective radiation protection, infection control and safety techniques as applicable. Ability to effectively communicate in English required. Proficient Computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACMDTT Enhanced Practice Certification in Medication Management.
