The Role

Are you passionate about craft spirits and cocktails? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers is looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Cellar Hand to support our Production Department. This role plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of our distillery operations. You’ll be responsible for daily cleaning, sanitation, and general maintenance tasks that uphold our high standards of hygiene and production excellence.

  • Execute daily cleaning and sanitation of production equipment, vessels, floors, drains, and surrounding workspaces.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks and basic repairs under the guidance of the Production Team.
  • Safely handle and transport raw materials, packaging supplies, and waste materials within the facility.
  • Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment such as pressure washers and floor scrubbers.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs to supervisory staff.
  • Maintain compliance with internal SOPs, HACCP plans, and health and safety regulations.
  • Support cellar operations as needed during production, bottling, or special projects.
  • Adhere to PPE and safe handling procedures at all times.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25kg on a regular basis.
  • Ability to remain standing and perform physical tasks for an entire shift (8+ hours).
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to operate basic tools and equipment.
  • Capacity to work in a physically demanding environment (heat, noise, wet surfaces).

Who You Are

  • Previous experience in a food/beverage production, warehouse, or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and basic safety procedures.
  • Forklift certification or mechanical aptitude (not required but considered an asset).

  • A proven track record of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
  • The ability to follow both verbal and written instructions with precision and attention to detail
  • Willingness to take on physically demanding and repetitive tasks with a positive attitude
  • Comfort working in a production floor and cellar environment, including exposure to noise, steam, and cleaning chemicals
  • Flexibility to work various shifts—including early mornings, evenings, or weekends—based on production needs
