About the role

Description:
Performs all winter machine grooming in a safe, effective, and consistent manner. To produce a very high standard groomed surface for our guests and visitors to enjoy.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform light maintenance of vehicles, tools and implements.
  • Perform food and trash runs, propane delivery, general hauling and racecourse construction as needed.
  • Accountable for skills required and staying abreast of new developments in safe, proper operation of grooming vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform grooming in a reasonable, well-directed manner on a nightly basis, following an established plan organized by management.
  • Perform and be accountable for safe slope grooming at night, sometimes in adverse weather conditions on rough, uneven, and steep terrain while operating a $250,000 piece of equipment.
  • Perform inspections of Snowcat daily and report unusual sights or sounds when they arise to management.

**Experience/Requirements:**Formal Education:

  • Highschool, able to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s license

Job Experience:

  • Heavy equipment or Grooming operator a definite asset.
  • Shift experience is helpful.
  • Previous snowmaking experience at Panorama Mountain Resort.

Special Skills/Equipment:

  • Above average mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Knowledge as to the operation and function of hydraulic system an asset.
  • Able to work unsupervised for long periods of time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be in good physical shape. Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to work through the night.
