POSITION SUMMARY
Within a school-based setting, the Wellness Facilitator will provide programming and services to support, strengthen and build capacity in children, families, schools and community with a focus in the areas of mental health promotion & prevention and capacity building. The Wellness Facilitator will provide a range of services and programs including promotion, prevention, early intervention, service coordination and mental health education. They will also be responsible for engaging community partners, helping to build community awareness and capacity, and integrating community services in the school setting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference will be given to a candidate who possesses a degree in one of the fields of Social Services, Health Promotion or Education
- An understanding of mental health, relationship building, child & youth development and overall wellness
- Experience & ability in working with children, youth and families as well as with school and community agency personnel
- Skills and knowledge in program development, facilitation and implementation
- Proven experience in relationship building, communication and teamwork
- A combination of education/ training and relevant experience will be considered
- Own vehicle for travel, valid driver's license and appropriate insurance
- Recent and satisfactory Criminal Record and Intervention Record Checks (mandatory).
COMPENSATION & PARAMETERS
- This is a full-time, term position with a contract start date of August 25, 2025 and end date of June 26th, 2026.
- The hours for the position are 37.5 hours per week (1.0FTE) Monday to Friday during the instructional year (10 month per year position following the academic calendar).
- Remuneration is commensurate with education & experience and includes an applicable benefits package and holiday allotment.
- There will be some possibility of work requirements outside of regular hours (any overtime will be given as Time in Lieu).
