STUDENT LIAISON FOR Communications office

The Faculty of Law’s communications team is looking for social media ambassadors for the fall semester! We seek to hire two creative and self-motivated students who are excited to share glimpses of the McGill Law student life on social media. Working a few hours a week on your own schedule, you would help build community among McGill Law students and show prospective students what law school life is like.

JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

Assist the communications team in promoting the Faculty’s vibrant student life. This is primarily achieved by creating Instagram Reels on your daily experience as a law student and/or on topics/events suggested by the communications team. Engage fellow students in content creation – e.g., soliciting guest posts by fellow students, monitoring social media and asking students for permission to repost their Reel/TikTok on the Faculty’s Instagram page, planning takeovers.

TASKS:

  • Produce social media publications
  • Capture and edit pictures and short videos
  • Help create engaging multimedia using apps such as Canva and Instagram (Reels)
  • Monitor social media platforms to identify relevant content to be re-shared
  • Act as a liaison between students and the Faculty’s communications team to identify interesting student activities, initiatives, and accomplishments to be featured on the Faculty’s social media accounts
  • Any other related tasks

Qualifications Required*:*

  • Creativity
  • Social media savvy – the ideal candidates already post regularly about their law school experience on social media
  • Bilingualism (spoken and written)
  • Self-starter, capacity to work autonomously
  • D.E.C. or equivalent
  • Registered full-time student at McGill’s Faculty of Law

APERÇU DU POSTE :

Appuyer l’équipe des communications dans la promotion de la vie étudiante dynamique de la Faculté. Cela se fait principalement par la création de Reels Instagram illustrant votre quotidien d’étudiant.e en droit et/ou portant sur des sujets ou événements proposés par l’équipe des communications. Vous serez également invité.e à mobiliser d’autres étudiant.e.s dans la création de contenu – par exemple, en sollicitant des publications invitées, en surveillant les réseaux sociaux et en demandant la permission de repartager leurs Reels/TikToks sur la page Instagram de la Faculté, ou en organisant des prises de contrôle (« takeovers »).

  • Produire des publications pour les médias sociaux

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Créativité
  • Aisance avec les médias sociaux – les candidat.e.s idéal.e.s publient déjà régulièrement du contenu lié à leur expérience en droit sur les réseaux sociaux
  • Bilinguisme (oral et écrit)
  • Esprit d’initiative, capacité à travailler de manière autonome
  • D.E.C. ou équivalent
  • Être inscrit.e à temps plein à la Faculté de droit de McGill
