Overview
ATCO Frontec is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to support food service operations at the Canadian Forces Military Staff College in North York. This position involves regular weekend shifts and requires a strong background in general kitchen duties and line cooking. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations. The Chef will be on call during weekends to provide support as needed.
Wage: $20.50 Hourly
Part Time: Weekends. other days as required
Responsibilities

Manage food services in compliance with Food Service Management Guides and Provincial and Federal Regulations.

Prepare all foods to be served in accordance with meal plans and schedules.

Perform general kitchen duties including food prep, line cooking, and maintaining cleanliness.

Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.

Inspect food and equipment regularly to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Maintain a clean, organised, and professional kitchen environment.

Support food service operations in a structured and high-volume setting.

Carry out other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Advanced Food Safe Certificate required.

Completion of a college or other post-secondary program in cooking.

3-5 years’ experience as a cook in the hotel/restaurant industry.

Ability to prioritize and multitask.
-
Professional communication skills, oral and written.
-
Work well under pressure.
-
Strong organization and leadership skills.

Effective problem-solving skills.
-
Must be based in the Toronto Area
The successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing, as well as obtain criminal background and government security clearance as part of the hiring process.
