About the role

This role is perfect for someone who is seeking to join a team of driven and entrepreneurial professionals in the mortgage industry, who want to work closely with senior management and build on their technical and analytical skills.

Reporting to the Vice President, Capital Markets and Treasury, you will play a key role on the Capital Markets team, with a focus on managing the daily operations related to cash management, mortgage pricing, funding, aggregation and sales.

This position has a hybrid working environment and is based in Toronto, ON.

Your day to day will include:

  • Assisting in the managing of investor relationships and execution of mortgage transactions
  • Developing internal and external presentation materials for management, and external partners
  • Creating and maintaining tools, reports, and processes related to mortgage pricing and funding
  • Working closely to review loans and manage investor allocations
  • Partnering in developing database management infrastructure
  • Gaining comprehensive knowledge of mortgage insurer and mortgage funder policies
  • Preparing mortgage insurance premium receivable from investors and payable to insurers
  • Monitoring daily cash inflows and outflows and providing cash management report
  • Monitoring and developing reporting, managing systems, and new tools/resources
  • Ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in your work
  • Performing other duties and assisting with special projects (as assigned)

You will bring:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specialized in Business, Finance, Analytics, or a related field
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience and training with banking and lending, interest in financial markets, data management, and financial modelling
  • Intermediate experience with technical skills using Excel, VBA, SQL and Power BI to analyze data and create visualizations, dashboards and reports
  • Strong willingness to learn from others, work closely with upper management, and grow oneself alongside entrepreneurial-spirited professionals in the mortgage industry
  • The capacity to work in a team environment while also managing responsibilities independently
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills
  • Understanding of capital markets and corporate finance, including working knowledge of securitization, derivatives, and financial valuation
