The Role:
Job Title: Business Account Manager
Salary Range: $62,454.00 - $78,067.00
Job Function:
Responsible for the business development and management of the business portfolios in the region
Manage a portfolio of businesses with both non-lending and simple credit needs within their region, involving annual review of the risk and profitability of each member’s account; monitor problem accounts and plans to minimize risk
Build relationships with existing members; network with external business organizations and individuals to generate new business
Receive and analyze financial and personal net worth statements; calculate debt servicing capacity; negotiate terms and conditions of loans
Identify and pursue opportunities to promote other business services and non-credit products; review current portfolio to ensure clients have proper banking products
Proactively market the organization’s products and services by promoting, upselling and cross selling the full range of lending and investment vehicles with emphasis on both business and personal loans, mortgages, credit card products, lines of credit, as well as referring registered and non-registered deposit and investment vehicles and sundry services
Maintain a high profile and image as the financial institution of choice in the community by establishing member and non-member client relationships and business contacts
Support actions to improve the growth and development of the loan portfolio
Work with the Director of Commercial & Agricultural Experience to prepare budget objectives, monitor and coordinate activities to achieve budget objectives and profitability
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an advanced knowledge of both business and retail lending policies and procedures, lending reports, and related/developing technology
- Act as a key advisor to the Branch Manager and CAAM in order to support existing and new business member relationships
- Analyze loan requests using established lending criteria to safeguard member deposits and the viability of the Credit Union while supporting growth objectives
- Advise current members and potential new members on Credit Union products and Services (including business and personal accounts, overdraft applications, Credit Card applications, Payment Services) using the Advice Based model approach
- Ensure necessary regulatory and compliance guidelines and measures are followed
- Collect and compile information and analyze financial statements to assess credit worthiness
- Ensure daily monitoring of the Delinquency Report. Follow up on delinquent accounts up to 30 days, contact members are required and maintain records of action taken
- Ensure a proactive approach is taken in order to retain current business
- Handle member complaints in a courteous, professional manner
- Represent the Credit Union in the community by participating in local business activities and community functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related business field or equivalent work experience
- Display exceptional interpersonal skills by demonstrating approachability, trustworthiness, flexibility and strong work and service ethic
- Proven relationship management and sales effectiveness skill, able to identify members/non-member needs and match appropriate solutions
- Demonstrate results orientation in both sales and service
- Thorough understanding of all Credit Union retail and business products and services
- Thorough understanding of the Credit Union’s business strategies
- Demonstrate attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy for auditing, checking and verifying work
