As our Director of Finance , you will be a key leader responsible for safeguarding and optimizing the school’s financial health while supporting our broader strategic goals. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, you will oversee all accounting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and audit functions. This is a pivotal role where your leadership and insight will influence every corner of our organization—from strategic financial planning and reporting to systems integration, policy development, and risk management.

The Director of Finance brings:
- A CPA designation, bachelor’s degree in a related field, and significant leadership experience (6+ years in finance, 5+ in a management role), ideally in education or the non-profit sector
- Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, audit, compliance, and risk management, with a strong grasp of Canadian GAAP, CRA charity reporting, and regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency with financial systems (preferably Blackbaud/Financial Edge), along with experience in financial systems implementation, policy development, and internal controls
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, people-focused leadership style that builds trust across departments
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and oversee all core financial functions—accounting, payroll, budgeting, cash flow, compliance, audit, and internal controls—to ensure financial health and regulatory integrity
- Deliver timely, transparent financial reporting and analysis to the CFOO, Finance Committee, and key stakeholders to support data-informed decisions and long-range planning
- Optimize systems, policies, and processes across finance and related platforms (e.g., Blackbaud, Raiser’s Edge), driving efficiency and risk mitigation through continuous improvement
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Advancement, Admissions, Facilities, and other teams, ensuring strategic financial stewardship and alignment with school-wide goals
