The location in Sanford, (Florida, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Maintenance Millwright. This job is full-time permanent.

The company operates a state-of-the-art paper mill near Orlando, Florida. Domtar, a leading manufacturer of tissue products, produces large rolls of tissue using both virgin and recycled grades for resale as well as converting into finished products; namely bath tissue and paper towels, servicing customers in the away-from-home and value retail.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Maintenance Millwright is a full-time position, responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will be required to maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Will be a service position for Facilities, Paper Mill, Converting, Warehouse and Offices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Reading blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  2. Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  3. Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  4. Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
  5. Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumps, motors and programmable logic controls
  6. Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts,
  7. Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances,
  8. Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments,
  9. Perform predictive and operational procedures,
  10. Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machineries
  11. Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
  12. Sharpening and maintaining machine tools
  13. Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
  14. Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  15. Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries
  16. Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
  17. Adhere to Best Maintenance practices by attending daily scheduling meetings and working with Operations to manage break-in work.
  18. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience and/or Technical Degree
  • Industrial experience preferred

  • Proficient analytical skills required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess the drive and passion to continuously improve upon the health and safety efficiency, production, planning, manufacturing and maintenance cost targets for the site
  • High level of verbal and written skills.
  • Able to respond effectively to changing work situations and priorities.
  • Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
