Senior Product Development Engineer - Medical Devices

Akkodis is partnered with a leading medical device manufacturer to recruit a Senior Product Development Engineer , where you will play a key role innovating next generation medical devices.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead the design of innovative mechanical and electromechanical systems
- Guide projects from early concept through to regulatory approval and manufacturing
- Mentor and support junior engineers to elevate the entire team’s capabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Manufacturing) to bring ideas to life
- Contribute to intellectual property development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure designs meet quality, cost, and regulatory expectations (ISO 13485, FDA)
What You Bring:
- At least 8+ years of hands-on experience in product development (preferably in medical devices or other similar regulated industries such as aerospace or pharmaceuticals)
- Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Biomedical Engineering (Master’s a plus)
- P.Eng designation (or eligibility) and good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario would be a major asset
- Strong skills in CAD (Solidworks) , FEA/simulation , Design Verification & Validation , Manufacturing , prototyping , DFM, Project Management, and Analysis skills.
- Bonus points for experience with electronics, embedded prototyping (Arduino, MATLAB, Python)
